The Pennsylvania Journal and Weekly Advertiser 12/28/1774
Yes, that's right. A rare colonial newspaper from 1774 was recently and most likely unknowingly donated to a Bellmawr, New Jersey Goodwill Industries store. The Pennsylvania Journal and Weekly Advertiser was printed in Philadelphia on December 28, 1774. The patriotic slogan 'Unite or Die' with a snake representing the colonies suggests a direct association to Benjamin Franklin. Needless to say, all involved were pleasantly shocked and amazed at the unexpected discovery. Officials estimate that the sale of this important historical document should yield between $6,000 and $16,000. Goodwill officials say that the money from the sale will be funneled into employee education programs.
