Roman Empire Denarius Nero Silver Coin 54-68 AD

Picture
Born in 37 AD in Antium near Rome, Nero (Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus) was emperor of Rome for more than 13 years. His infamous reign began in 54 AD at the age of only sixteen and ended with his death in 68 AD. Nero was the youngest ever emperor to inherit the throne in Rome up until this time. An extremely controversial ruler, known for his bizarre, unpredictable and even cruel behavior, who is best remembered for allegedly causing the week-long ‘Great Fire of Rome’ in 64 AD and serenading the mass destruction with the playing of his musical Lyre. The entire story is most likely false, but has withstood the test of time.
